H0tch Potch Savoury Pies
Hotch Potch Savoury Pies has occupied a distinctive space in the prepared food market ever since its founding in the early 2010s. The business was established by a baker with a gluten intolerance, who sought to redress a bias towards sweet treats in 'free from' aisles. Initially, the branding was bright and playful, but it was aligned too closely with health foods, a far cry from the 'comfort food' connotations he sought to convey, so a comprehensive rebranding project was commissioned. Incorporating a chunky fat face font and colours inspired by freshly baked water-crust pastry, the new look appealed to broader audiences.
